Helping the Gatwick Diamond to Shine Brightly

Between 2009-2020, Jo led the strategic marketing and PR for the Gatwick Diamond Initiative, a public/private partnership whose aim was to position the region as a South East business powerhouse.
From quarterly business surveys, PR and website content to trade missions, event management and social media training, Prowse helped elevate the Gatwick Diamond’s profile and voice across regional and national channels - highlighting the area's economic strength and business potential.
One project was to investigate global inward investment trends and shape a new place marketing strategy for the airport economy in a post-BREXIT world. Jo analysed the area’s inward investment offer, explored how its key sectors could be linked to spread benefits across Sussex and Surrey and benchmarked the area’s inward investment ‘offer’ against UK and international locations.
A holistic approach was recommended to regional policy-makers to counter the future threats of disruptive AI while creating new opportunities for innovation and inward investment. The findings were shared with council leaders and economic development policymakers across the region.
