Supporting Women’s Enterprise in South East England

Over a four year period, Prowse delivered Women’s Enterprise programmes on behalf of the South East England Development Agency.   Reinforcing our belief of the need for greater representation of women in senior roles within the workplace and business media, we created a women’s business network, bringing together more than 160 women entrepreneurs and policymakers.

Working closely with the client team, our integrated campaign championed women’s enterprise and raised awareness of its contribution to the economy.   We undertook research on a number of topics and produced more than 30 case-studies of successful women entrepreneurs for media and website placement.

Our PR programme capitalised upon opportunities around Women’s Enterprise Day and International Women’s Day achieving coverage in the Financial Times, the Daily Telegraph, GMTV Magazine, numerous regional media articles and a week-long BBC Radio promotion.

We also sought to inspire the next generation by arranging for the female business leaders to speak in schools and colleges across the region.  Support was provided, including a series of training workshops to provide effective advocacy, communication and media skills.

Overall, our activities made a significant contribution towards helping the South East Regional Development Agency to achieve its target of gaining 10,000 new women-owned businesses across the region. Our work continued when the RDA was closed via a new CIC established by Jo.
