Tourism Recovery Insights for Eastbourne

In Spring 2021, Jo was commissioned by EDEAL and the Eastbourne Hospitality Association, in partnership with Visit Eastbourne, to design and deliver a consumer tourism survey. The goal was to understand how the pandemic had shaped people’s aspirations and perceptions around short breaks and day visits — vital intelligence for supporting the tourism sector’s recovery in Sussex.
The online survey attracted an impressive 3,254 responses from across the UK, providing local tourism leaders with valuable insights into changing visitor behaviours and expectations. These findings fed directly into Eastbourne’s recovery action plans, helping the destination and its hospitality sector adapt, rebuild confidence, and plan strategically for future growth.
